Dr. Makhzangy graduated at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt in 1994 with distinction M.B.B.Ch degree. He then acquired a Masters in Surgery of the Ear, Nose and Throat in 1999 from the same University, submitting a Master Degree Thesis on bacterial infections of the middle ear. He then completed his Medical Doctor Degree in Otorhinolaryngology in 2004 from the same institution, following examination and defense of a Medical Doctor Degree Thesis on cancer of the larynx (voice box).

Dr. Makhzangy started his career as a house officer at Ain Shams University Hospitals in 1995. From 1996 till 1999, he underwent his residency training at the Ear, Nose and Throat department of the same institution. Following obtaining his Master degree of specialization in 1999, he was assisting faculty staff members as an Assistant Lecturer in teaching undergraduate medical students and training fellows and postgraduate students, as well as in meetings and conferences by participating as a member of the organizing committee of the 17th World Congress of the International Federation of Otorhinolaryngologic Societies (IFOS) that took place in Cairo in 2002.

In 2005, he became a full staff member after obtaining his Medical Doctor Degree, continuing his academic career supervising postgraduate students as well as teaching undergraduates. In 2010, he became Associate Professor of Otorhinolaryngology by publishing scientific articles on different diseases of the ear, nose and throat based on his research work, in well-known Egyptian and international scientific journals including the European Archives of Otorhinolaryngology and Head & Neck. In 2012, Dr. Makhzangy moved to the United Arab Emirates where he joined a private hospital in Abu Dhabi as an ENT Specialist practicing at One Day Surgery Center in Abu Dhabi. In 2016, Dr. Makhzangy was promoted to Professor of Otorhinolaryngology at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University by further publishing distinguished work and presenting it at national/regional and international scientific meetings including the Second Asian Clinical Congress, in Kyoto, Japan in 2014 where he presented a lecture on a special form of dizziness caused by involvement of the inner ear with results of different treatment methods of this condition. He is also a member of many reputed organizations which include The Research Methodology Unit – Department of Otorhinolaryngology (Faculty of Medicine – Ain Shams University), The Egyptian Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Allied Sciences, The International Society of the History of Medicine and the American Academy of Advancement of Science.

Dr. Makhzangy’s work experience in his field spans more than 20 years mostly gained by his practice at his home institute busy University Hospital.
