Diagonsis: Heavy bleeding at 34 weeks pregnancy
On 17th August 2018, when my wife was 34 weeks pregnant, she had experienced unexpected heavy bleeding and we had to rush to the hospital into emergency. We were taken into the labor room and stayed under observation for 3h, having the nurse and sisters trying to figure out what had caused the bleeding. Within the 3h of observation and scanning, the nurse was not able to identify the problem at all and she was ready to pack up and leave, luckily, Dr. Aruna Kumari was on duty that day and she was very persistent, wanting to identify the problem, and after more failed attempts by the nurse, Dr. Aruna Kumari decided to check for her self and took over the scanner. After 15 minutes of thorough checking, Dr. Aruna Kumari was able to identify the problem, "the placenta had detached with blood clots on the side of the uterus which was the cause of the heavy bleeding". Few minutes later all the machines started beeping and showing that the baby's heart rate was decreasing rapidly, that's when my wife was rushed into the emergency operation room for a C-section intervention.
Few minutes later we had welcomed Anneke Maria Dragomir, our little angel, into this world. This was the best day of our lives and we are deeply grateful to Dr. Aruna Kumari for showing this amazing level of strength, persistence and thoroughness, that helped bring this miracle to us.
If it wasn't for Dr. Aruna Kumari, the outcome could have been horrible.

I had my ACL torn and was struggling with the decision, whether to do a surgery or not. Dr. Hans Fuchs was recommended by some of our German friends, which are all very satisfied with his work. He was the third doctor I saw, but the only one who didn’t tried to convince or to push me for the surgery, took time to treat me as an individual, answering all my questions, touched upon my doubts and work together with me on my knee.
Apart from his excellence, knowledge and over 30-years of experience, Dr. Hans Fuchs stands out as a very good person, working with good intent. I build a certain level of trust to him, which kept me waiting for him during his absence, without even thinking about searching another doctor.
The surgery went very well (it was fun since I was awake and talking to him) and am currently recovering, looking forward to do sports soon. Of course there is no life-time warranty that my knee will be as before, but I am absolutely sure that this man was working with best intentions, has done an excellent job and fixed my knee properly. Walking through the streets in Dubai, I had the worse accident of my life; I felt down hurting my left knee and my right side elbow was completely smashed.

Hi, Good day, this is Jean Carlo Tomelden, my ACL was torn last May 2017. Having ACL is not that easy, i can’t do my job properly, I can’t play basketball, and I can’t even jog for 5 minutes, it affects me mentally and physically. After 4 months I decided to have a surgery for my ACL, my friend John David Leprozo referred me at Burjeel Hospital. He’s also a ACL patient and also a nurse at the Burjeel Hospital, then I met Dr. Hans Fuchs, we talked about my condition then he recommend to have a surgery before it gets worst. His nurse Charles is a very nice guy, he’s the one who helped me with everything like schedules, paperworks, etc. October 9, 2017 is the day of my surgery, I was kind of nervous and i hoped everything would be fine. Diagnosis - Displaced fractures of several metatarsals, left foot - ORIF left foot.
There is no possible way for me to express my gratitude to Dr Hans for the incredible care I received from him following being diagnosed with two fractured metatarsals in my left foot.
Following a bad fall, no doctor I saw was able to give me a clear indication as to the best course treatment and the decision kept being placed on me and what I felt like was best. Feeling scared, worried and defeated, I decided to seek another opinion and I was referred to Dr Hans who came highly recommend, upon meeting him I instantly felt relieved for the first time since my break, his kindness and empathy he showed me in that first appointment when I was scared and confused as to what I was in for, goes beyond any treatment I have ever received.
He took his time to explain every little detail no matter how silly my questions may have seemed, from how I managed to break the bones, to the best course of treatment based on his extensive experience and knowledge, for the best prognosis long term which is what I wanted and could not find from any other surgeon.
After reviewing my X-rays it was clear I would need the bones realigned and to have K-wires placed temporarily until the bones fused. Dr Hans performed the operation without any complication and a beautiful straight realignment of the fractured bones, for the 6weeks that followed I chose to go home to South Africa for the recovery time, and we had Dr Hans along the way with us every step including having his picture up so he could watch over my healing bones, he has become part of the family back home as everyone knows about my wonderful German surgeon who looked after me when I was so scared. I saw orthopedic surgeons as well as the radiographers who monitored the bone healing in South Africa who all applauded Dr Hans work and how well he had performed the operation and the bone alignment.
Living abroad it can often be overwhelming needing medical attention as it seems so foreign to what you are "used to" back in your home country, Dr Hans you really made this experience so much easier then I could have ever imagined, what seemed like the worst thing to happen to me, being incredible scared and in pain you managed to take that all a way in an instant and make me see that it really was all going to be okay.

Diagnosis - Spiral fracture of the tibia - conservative management
Whilst on holidays (we are from the Netherlands) our year old daughter fell unluckily. By chance we were given an appointment with Dr. Hans Fuchs. From the very first moment we felt really happy about this. He quickly made a clinical diagnosis which was confirmed by x-ray. Dr. Fuchs made our daughter feel very comfortable getting her plaster. And to us he explained everything very well and things were arranged quickly and smooth. Dr. Fuchs is a real people's doctor that many can take an example of!
Diagnosis - ACL & MCL tear - operative (arthroscopic) ligament reconstruction
I tore my right ACL and MCL last February 2017 and as a skateboarder who competes in the amateur league in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, I had to be healthy and in top condition all the time. Having a torn ACL would mean a career ending injury in skating. Thankfully Dr. Hans Fuchs and his team of professionals did such a remarkable job on my ACL and MCL reconstruction, that 6 weeks into the surgery, I am able to jog and jump. I am recovering at such a fast pace that I will be able to skate again after 10months. Right now, two months post-surgery my knee is at 80-85%, and beginning to feel like normal again.
Diagnosis – Complicated fracture of the distal tibia/pilon - External fixator, plate fixation.
Dr. Hans did a 2 stages operation for my brother to fix his rare ankle fractures. From the first day my brother was transferred under his care, we faced kindness and excellent communication skills from his side and his team also.
My brother was relaxed and following his orders, because he is sure that this is for his sake.
It was really a critical time and difficult decision for us to go for the surgery few days before my brother’s marriage, but we were sure that Dr. Hans will do it just perfectly.
Directly after each surgery, he explained to us what was exactly done during the procedure and the current situation. Again after the surgery, he came for regular visits to his patient in the ward at least twice daily. I was in a severe pain, and you gave me relief, I was hopeless and you gave me hope, I was not able to move forward and you gave me the motive and strength. I had a severe fracture in my ankle. Dr. Hans Fuchs, as an artist, tenderly and professionally fixed it back.
Before I came to Burjeel, I went, to many hospitals in the city and had met many doctors, I saw in their eyes how they are reluctant to do the surgery as I insisted on my high expectations of getting well, healthy and walking normally again.
I planned to travel to Germany to do the surgery there, a friend of mine, whom I trust, recommended Dr. Fuchs, the friend said in a humorous way: instead of travelling to Germany, why do not you bring Germany here, Dr. Fuchs is a German orthopedic whom you should see to get the medical advice, and crystalize your final decision to fly or to stay?
This is what I did, I remember that day, when Dr.Fuchs saw me looking at the X-rays, and touching my swelling ankle, asking me when and how it happened. I consulted this gynaecology doctor after reviewing her profiles in the hospital website and understood she has more than 30 years of experience. I had C-section in my first delivery in India. Just after a few consultations itself the doctor gave a confidence to have a normal delivery and promised we would try our best to be so. I heard so many discourage statements as not to go for normal delivery as the first one was caesarean. But, I completely trusted on the doctor and also on her experience. I didn’t bother to call my husband or mother while i was in labour suit. Procedure – ACL reconstruction
I had my ACL reconstruction surgery take place on August 22nd by Dr. Hans. He was the doctor that took care of me from day 1. I was very impressed with his knowledge and just being in his presence, his experience is evident.
Having surgery makes you feel anxious beforehand but with Dr. Hans the process seemed smooth and that's because it was. We had our first consultation, within a week the X-rays and MRI scans had been done.
It was such a quick and efficient process and with Dr. Hans in charge of the surgery it gave me the confidence to not waste any time. The new graft he placed in my knee has been done tightly as he was aware of my intentions of returning to sport and it is this sort of expertise you can only receive from experienced surgeons like Dr. Hans.
Since my surgery I have not once worn a knee brace or support of any type because the operation was such a success. Further to that I am now (4 months after surgery) in the gym daily, walking totally fine (no limping), I have no issues extending and flexing at the knee joint.
All in all if you are a victim of an ACL tear and you are consulting with Burjeel hospital for surgery then it would be my pleasure to recommend and urge that you do it with Dr. Hans.

Diagnosis - Severe Hallux valgus Deformity (bunion).
I suffered years ago from a hallux valgus which is known as bunion in my right foot , and because I was afraid from the operation I tried many ways to push it away .I got rid of high heels and narrow shoes but the condition became worse and the shape of my foot worsened too, in addition to the discomfort and pain.
At last I decided to do the operation . I sought a medical consultation from Dr. Hans who was very professional and calm. He also helped me to reduce my tension from the first appointment by his friendly smile and confident personality.

Procedure – Lateral patella compression syndrome with cartilage damage - Chondroplasty & arthroscopic lateral release
Dr. Hans and his team have worked a miracle on my knee. After many years of pain the problem has been solved in just a few weeks – x-rays then an MRI scan followed by some physiotherapy and a small operation.
Following the operation I was walking unaided within 24 hours and driving in a week. My final check-up was just 6 weeks after the operation by which time there was barely even a scratch on the knee and I can walk down stairs more easily than I have for years.
The team are friendly and helpful. Dr. Hans is charming and clearly very competent. Waiting times at appointments were usually short.
Overall I have been very impressed with the care and expertise of Dr. Hans and his team and hope to have my other knee operated on soon.

I've had a hallux valgus near to my right big toe. However, I have had two surgeries before but I was not happy with that surgeries since the pain not gone.

Procedure - Bilateral Total knee replacement
I have done a bilateral total knee replacement by Dr. Hans some seven weeks ago. From day one after surgery and with Dr. Hans' supervision, I was able to walk. I am afraid I had lost two years suffering, particularly when standing up and walking because of pain.
Dr. Hans then made a firm diagnosis, and I do appreciate him and his team for their prompt response to any needs I had. He came in to continue and supervise the treatment regardless of his days off.

Diagnosis - Fragility - fracture right hip - Plate fixation
My 86-year-old mother was under the care of Dr. Hans Fuchs after she fell and broke her leg. My brothers and sisters and I were worried that she would never be able to walk again. Although my mother's chances at a successful surgery were slim, Dr. Hans assured us that he would do everything he could to help my mother walk again. Dr. Hans kept us updated throughout her time in the operating room to calm our worry. Due to the impeccable work of Dr. Hans, my mother's surgery was a success.
My mother's reluctance and fear of walking after the surgery quickly dissipated after her encounters with Dr. Hans. His gentle and caring bedside manner helped her gain the confidence to take her first steps. He always checked up on my mother and made sure she was comfortable and happy. To this day, my mother still asks us how he's doing. We are all very grateful to him and would recommend his expertise to anyone. Dr. Hans even promised a home visit due to the special relationship he built with my mother.

The staff was so caring and helpful and my mother received everything she needed in a timely manner. The nurses were very knowledgeable and caring. When my mother left the hospital, she, the staff, and Dr. Hans were heavyhearted!

After consulting with you I felt calm and confident that all would be okay. Your willingness to discuss/explain everything to myself gave me a sense of peace and enabled me to continue to be strong.

I have been in the UAE for over 20 years and was very skeptical about seeing an orthopedic doctor in Abu Dhabi. I had a ruptured ACL and there was no sign of my meniscus on the MRI so my knee was in pretty bad shape. I heard numerous horror stories about surgeries that have gone wrong; some even advised me to go to Germany to have the surgery.
I went to see Dr Hans Fuchs and from the first meeting I felt totally comfortable and in very capable hands. Dr Fuchs did not make any assumptions - even though l asked lots of questions about what was wrong with my knee, the recovery time etc. He took the time to listen to me and once all the data had been gathered he explained the options and also shared the limitations with me too.....which l know some doctors avoid telling you!!! His team were efficient and it was evident that they work well together and have a great rapport! Charles, Shaheer and Prabeen went beyond my expectations and always treated me with respect. The team went out of their way to look after me and make sure my appointments were stress free, not rushing me off to see another patient or giving me half a story because someone else is waiting.
Once inside the theatre room, everything worked like clock work and l felt that everyone was working as a team to the highest standards. This really did exceed my expectations. Immediately after the surgery, Dr Fuchs kept the nurses fully informed of my recovery and there was never a doubt in my mind that the surgery was successful!
I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Fuchs and his team! I do not write testimonials regularly, however my experience with Dr Fuchs and his team definitely deserve this testimonial!

I would like to thank Dr. Hans Fuchs ( Orthopedic & Trauma Surgeon) because after 8 years of chronic unbearable pain and having seen more than 20 doctors in Abu Dhabi I have finally been able to go back to my normal life and all of that pain free. Dr Hans provided me with the right diagnosis and performed the right procedure (total hip replacement) accordingly. He made sure that I understood the procedure and the options that I had.
This made me feel very comfortable with the operations and confident in its positive outcome. I felt at ease with all his team (the nurses at his office and the nurses at the ward). I was reassured before and after the treatment, for me that was key, as a patient you need to trust your Dr and that's exactly what happened. Now I feel no pain, though it took me a long time to find the right Dr. I was so glad it was Dr. Hans and all is his team at Burjeel hospital.

Dr. Hans has an incredible combination of professionalism and empathy. As I was sitting outside his room, I saw a young patient walk in. The laughter and joy that emanated from the room was testimony to his care of the whole being. It was clear that psychologically the young child felt relaxed.
Anyhow, I had my appointment and it as more like visiting and old friend. Dr. Hans' staff was equally empathetic and they welcomed me like a known acquaintance, made me feel at ease and smiled all the while. When I left the room, it was evident that they cared about me. In fact later that day when I was leaving, the lady staff member from Dr. Hans's staff smile touched me and held my hand and said goodbye like a long lost friend.
By the way, when I went to make the appointment to see Dr. Hans again, his staff smiled widely in recognition and the greeting was sincere.
