Dr. Desislava Mladenova Markova has joined Burjeel Hospital as Specialist - Obstetrics and Gynecology / Fetal Medicine. She graduated from Higher Medical University Bulgaria qualifying as a Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynecology and subsequently worked as Senior Assistant Professor in Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Dr. Desi successfully completed her training in Fetal Medicine at Kings’ College Hospital, London, under the direction of Professor Kypros Nicolaides and was awarded with Fetal Medicine Foundation Diploma. She also completed the Advanced Training Skills Module in Fetal Medicine at Kings’ College Hospital, London, and a Master’s degree in Prenatal Genetics and Fetal Medicine from University College London, UK.

Dr. Desi has an extensive experience in high-risk antenatal ultrasound scanning during pregnancy and is highly skilled in doing intrauterine procedures. She is also an expert in early diagnosis and management of fetal & chromosomal abnormalities.
